‘Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.’ Philippians 4:4-7
More gray skies as news of city closures, church closures, business closures and an overall disruption of life were cast on screens of computers and televisions across the globe this morning. In the midst of this we have mortgages to pay, mouths to feed and businesses to keep afloat.
And so the disconnect begins as we try to understand what is happening and how we respond to it and continue to keep our spirits optimistic in the interim.
Preaching to the choir let me challenge you with something else: trust completely in the Lord. Lean not on your understanding but on His. He is the creator of you and the Owner of everything you see and touch. Let that sink in for a little bit and understand Who the economy really belongs to.
Be encouraged brothers and sisters for we win in the end. Press on towards the finish line.
