Our Daily Bread

A note from our president on August 7

Praise God for daily bread that comes in all shapes, sizes and forms. Looking back at just where the road has taken us, His faithfulness can be seen in every facet of my life. His goodness is felt in every nerve ending my body is able to experience. His love amplifies every taste bud my mouth can savor, and His mercy continues to refresh my weary, and sometimes heat exhausted, soul.

I am learning that praising God when seven zeros walk in the door is nearly second nature. My level of confidence in what we can do and where we can grow is augmented to say the least. However, that same credence quickly turns into doubt when another bill lands on my desk and only one small box remains on the shelf. As a business owner it is challenging to keep your head up while moving through the dip. When just about everything you own is on the line, seeing it for what God intends takes a day or two of reprieve, peace, a notebook and a purpose driven quest for shade from the blistering sun. Like a rest area on the long highway of life, the exit is appreciated. But when you process how much ground has actually been covered, your hope and prayer is that it doesn’t last too long.

Praise God someway somehow water continues to leave the rock and fill the ditch. On the most humid of August mornings, His mercies remain new and invigorating. On the driest of summer afternoons, His goodness and love tap the well for another drop of living sustenance. He is my infinite source of strength and joy and praise Him alone for providing another glass of something cold to drink.
