Ten years ago we adopted our first child. The amount of negativity stemming from our fleshly desires, and Satan, during that journey, was unbelievable. For me, most of the attacks centered around the cost of the adoption. Not because we didn’t have the money. But, because of my own principle and the fact that I had made the ‘budget’ an idol.
During a work event a great friend asked me how things were going. As I communicated our struggles, the process and my concerns, he looked me square in the eye and said ‘Trey, how much did God pay to adopt you?’
We received several gold nuggets of encouragement on that journey. But, through the years this one stands alone. Life saving encouragement from a life giving Source.
Be encouraged brothers and sisters. God’s word is literally oxygen for our lungs. Meditations that are sweeter than honey; verbiage with the power to resurrect.
