‘Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart’ Jeremiah 1:5
For the last three nights I have not been able to sleep. I’ve been laying awake thinking of my brothers and sisters in Louisiana and the anguish each one of them is going through.
I have also been restless with the fact that these same 145 mile an hour winds that leveled Lake Charles missed my house by 25 miles. The only question that seems to surface in my prayer life is ‘why’.
We see Jesus commanding the waves and the winds in Matthew. We know that God created the entire earth in Genesis. Nothing escapes Him. Nothing is an accident. Nothing is because someone deserves it more than the other. Every bit of it has a divine purpose. And every bit of it will bring Him glory.
Understanding this, I should not have been surprised by God’s answer - ‘You were set apart so that you can generously give out of the cup I’ve already filled.’
In just three short days God has multiplied the few pieces of bread and fish brought to the table. We have been able to donate over 20 generators, 32,000 bottles of water, 1,000 loaves bread and several hundred gallons of gas, with more donations still coming in. I simply cannot believe it.
Trust in the Lord. He will make your paths straight and He will blow your mind with how it all comes together.
