A note from our president on Wednesday, August 26, 2020

The name of the Lord is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.’ Proverbs 18:10

As the TV blares the latest lat and lon position of hurricane Laura I feel my anxiety climbing to a new level. This is not the first hurricane we have prepared for but it is the first hurricane we have endured in our current season of two smaller children and our own business. For these reasons alone, my nerves, tonight, are shot.

Kneeling beside my bed this warm Tuesday evening, I am selfishly praying for God’s protection. No sooner than these words come out of my mouth does the Holy Spirit reveal we may not receive it on this pass.

Even though there are times when I can’t see what’s over the edge, the Lord’s will is still perfect. The Lord’s will works for the good of those who love Him. I will have many questions and God, being the loving Father that He is, will have many answers. For now, however, I trust in His provision, whatever it may look like.

To my brothers and sisters standing in the path of this storm be encouraged. God is our strong tower. He does not promise blue skies and rainbows. He does promise He will never leave us and He will never forsake us. And, from personal experience, when I put my faith in Him things have a way of miraculously working out.
