Being a business owner has been challenging, both mentally and physically. Many times I’ve wondered where the next rent payment was going to come from. While living on the safety of the ledge and receiving a paycheck a couple of times a month it became easy to manufacture God into my own belief system of who He is and what He is doing.
God has a way of bringing forth the physical blessing so that the yield is spiritual blessing. He does not bless me so that I can be fat and rich and merry. His reason for blessing me is to glorify Himself.
Jesus would often teach in parables. At the end of these lessons in disguise most would walk away. They were there to receive only.
James 1:17 says that all good and perfect gifts come from above but when I start to trust in the gift and not the Giver I become an idolater.
Do I trust in the Giver when times are good? Or only when times are bad? When there is loss? Or only when there is life?
Be encouraged brothers and sisters. Jesus does care about what you eat and where you live. But, the main reason for His blessing is refinement of us and glorification of Himself. He will bring forth whatever ‘gifts’ are required.
