The end of all things is near. Therefore be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.’ 1 Peter 4:7-8
The old Trey was known to step on people, be abrasive to work with, was overly committed and would do whatever it took to get the sale. As one of my previous employers told me I was a dream for management and a nightmare for the staff. The fact that I remained employed and was never laid off because of this behavior was purely God’s protection.
God did not create me to be weak and silent. He did not create me to be lazy. But, this does not mean launching a brutal attack on Facebook or putting the hammer to an employee that is less committed or exhibits a different work ethic. Sometimes charging into the fray looks like forgiving those that don’t deserve it, taking a pay cut so another has it better and lending humility rather than spewing pride.
God did pay the most expensive of all ransom’s for me. Denying myself and submitting to Him is my only play in the game.
No matter how many times I fail He still invites me on the journey. No matter how many times I plunge the nail into His wrist, He still calls me His own. I spit in His face and He pursues me when I’m a long way off. I sell Him for gold and He scours the field when I’am separated from the flock.
Be encouraged brothers and sisters. We are loved, we are saved, we are vindicated and we are redeemed. And that is a scandal.
