Sometimes you have to get back on the horse.

A note from our president on May 19, 2022

Praise God for just a few of the many blessings we received last week. It never ceases to amaze me what will walk through the door, and it never ceases to amaze me what time it will walk through the door. God is faithful and incredibly generous, and worthy of any hallelujah I could possibly express.

In passing with a colleague, I mentioned how life’s road has left me with more than a few regrets. I made the comment that I had lost count of the mistakes and the number of do-overs I would gladly take advantage of were it possible. He seemed to look down on me, as if these blunders occupied some imaginary space beyond his peripheral. We said our goodbyes and I walked away thinking to myself “what a loss”.

The winner’s circle in business, and in life for that matter, is more than just a trophy and a bottle of champagne. The lights, sounds and fans gathered can be a powerful stimulant, but, it’s hard to understand just how refreshing the feeling is without losing a few races along the way.

Praise the King of kings and Lord of lords for the number of times I’ve gone over the handlebars, grabbed the electric fence and been thrown off the horse. These mistakes have been painful and bloody but have also been critical in my ability to savor the revitalizing nectar that only exists when you get back in the saddle.

Praise Jesus Christ for the experience, the stirrups, the colt and the scenery. I remain speechless with regards to why He has invited me on the expedition in the first place.
