generosity

A note from our president on February 23, 2022

Recently, I was accused of being too generous with an employee, too transparent with a customer and too forgiving with a seller on a real estate deal. It seems the proper rule, as it goes by way of the world’s definition, is to “get yours” and protect your investments at all costs. Rest and worship on Sunday seem to be acceptable but building your kingdom Monday through Saturday is required for getting ahead and stepping out of line to follow the Rabi can have consequences.

Here’s what I know - I am absolutely nothing without Jesus Christ. His willingness paid my way. His earthly imprisonment bought my ticket to the dance. Every grain of rice and drop of water has been generously provided by Him and I will sing of His glory as long as there is breath in these lungs to do so. This house will serve the Lord, give until it hurts, show the customer all of the cards in the deck and do its very best to forgive seventy times seven. If it costs me business, so be it. If doors close, so be it. I am only interested in following my God wherever He leads and singing of His mercy that leads to rivers of joy.

Praise the King of kings and Lord of lords for a crazy amount of daily bread this past week. I am not worthy to even untie His sandals and yet disbelief abounds when I think about how good He really is.
